The "Best Part of Me"
We started to create our own positive classroom community. To do this we read the story The Best Part of Me by Wendy Ewald.
In this story children our own age have chosen one body part that they are proud of and written about it. We used this book as our model for our writing. We chose our favourite body part to write about then took a black white photo of it.
We are super proud of how our writing came out. Come in to our class to see more of our amazing writing.

Do you know what makes a good sentence? We have been learning to write simple sentences making sure they have four key parts:-
1. Start with a capital
2. Ends with a punctuation mark (. ! or ?)
3. Has a verb (doing word)
4. MAKES SENSE!!!!

Once we got used to writing simple sentences correctly, we went on to write compound and complex sentences. First we learnt about compound sentences, they have two ideas joined together using and, or, so and but. We watched the catchy movie "Conjunction Junction" then tried writing our own compound sentences.
