Easter Egg Toss
Today we took part in the great Easter egg toss. We had so much fun throwing our Easter eggs into containers.
Every time we threw our egg we were aiming to get a number. In the containers Mrs Mackenzie put the numbers 5,8,9 and 10. Our team challenge was to get to 100 the quickest by adding up our total throws. Red House was the fastest to get to 100. They got 102 points. Green was a very close second, they got 99.
We then started at 100 and counted backwards, trying to get to 0 the quickest. This time it was green that was the quickest.
We had to use a lot of the addition and subtraction strategies that we had learnt over the term, some of us even used skip counting and multiplication when we threw more than one egg into the same container.

Maths Expectation Year 3/4
Maths is made up of numeracy (numbers) and strand (applying numeracy skills in statistics, measurement, geometry and algebra). It is expected that Year 3 children should be working at the beginning of Level 2, while Year 4 children should be working at the end of Level 2.
In numeracy, we use "stages." Stage 5 is the equivalent of Level 2. Again, the expectation is that Year 3 children should be working at the beginning of Stage 5 (referred to as Stage 4 to 5), while Year 4 children should be working at the end of Stage 5.

Can you match the l (litres) to ml (millilitres)? |
How much does it hold?
Click on the container and watch it pour. How much does it hold? Choose the correct measurement to the side of the container. |
Builder Jack
Jack is great at building but hopeless at measuring. Help Jack work out what each measurement it. Write it carefully though. |
